DESIGN TALK: MXHome

Design talk means taking some time to meet the face behind a brand. Today, we want to introduce you to Malvina Vanbever, the founder of her own sustainable lounge cushion company, MXHome.

Malvina, a young and promising French designer started this company in her native St. Tropez in 2017, and has since made a name for herself in the world of interior and exterior lounging accessories.

A graduate of the acclaimed design school Istituto Marangoni, Paris, Malvina has travelled the world — from New York to London — and tried her hand at various pursuits relating to design, from management to the creative side, only to end up closer to home so she could begin the project she feels passionate about: MXHome.

As her line of products shows, Malvina takes inspiration from the natural world, especially from marine life. It is in part because of this love for nature that her work relies heavily on the choice of materials, since all MXHome items are made solely from recycled and recyclable materials, from outer fabric to filling, only contain wood from sustainably managed forests, and use non-toxic dyes and finishes. Through her company, Malvina strives to contribute to the preservation and protection of the environment, as well as the historical and artistic heritage of the region from which she hails: she aims to remind people that the Côte d’Azur is not just a vibrant, beachy community, but a region of varied natural treasures, history and artistic tradition. MXHome products reflect that in their products, which combine funky, eclectic and naturalist designs with consistent, handmade quality.

On DECOVRY, we feature a whole array of MXHome items, from their sea life themed loungers and throw-pillows in the vibrant colors of their real-life counterparts, to fringed raffia poufs and beanbags in neutral tones. All of MXHome’s items will bring an instant beach vibe to your home, regardless of the location, and brighten your day the sustainable way.
